Lights on the River of the Eternal Baby Moon
Kara Hansen and Kathleen Taylor adapt the alphabet of an amateur radio practice to their body movements. Sampling from popular music they stutter a preverbal romance to the moon through dancing.
Kara Hansen
Kara Hansen is artist and writer currently living in Nanaimo and based in Vancouver BC. Through improvisation, costume, makeup, scripts, and movement scores, her work engages collaboration to build absurd narratives around the body. She is the curatorial intern at Nanaimo Art Gallery where she co-curated the exhibition Spirit Gum with Jesse Birch. Recent exhibitions include No Monologue (2015) at 221A, Vancouver. She holds a BFA from Emily Carr University.
Kathleen Taylor
Kathleen Taylor is an artist based in Vancouver who completed her BFA at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. She engages with drawing as a means to explore sculpture, installation and architecture. Most recently, she had a solo exhibit entitled PULP SHADES at Dynamo Arts Association, as well as participating in Balmoral 12 tone at Avenue.
