{"id":197,"date":"2019-08-27T12:40:53","date_gmt":"2019-08-27T21:40:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/livebiennale.ca\/2019\/?p=197"},"modified":"2019-09-12T13:50:48","modified_gmt":"2019-09-12T22:50:48","slug":"mineki-murata","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livebiennale.ca\/2019\/mineki-murata\/","title":{"rendered":"MINEKI MURATA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mineki Murata<br \/>\nJapan<\/p>\n<p>Mineki Murata is an artist based in Maebashi, Gunma, Japan.<\/p>\n<p>Murata\u2019 s works mainly consist of his drawing performances, which give strong impact to the audience by executing primitive physical actions, as well as installations and objects as result of those performances.<\/p>\n<p>Murata\u2019 s drawings and performances are guided by his spontaneous, primitive actions and the etymological interpretation of the Japanese word kaku, which brings together of four different meanings: writing (kaku:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ) his consciousness, drawing (kaku:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ) results, scratching (kaku:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ) actions, and lacking (kaku:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ) hidden potentials. Murata creates his works with his eyes closed, but it does not mean he draws blind-sighted.
