Chance: Vancouver is part of an ongoing psychogeographical walk performance project where the public determines the direction of Derr’s journey based upon the roll of a dice. On October 15, 2007 Derr will accept thirty dice rolls preceding the LIVE Emily Carr Institute Panel. The following day Derr will proceed on a walk wearing four video cameras attached to his person through the streets of Vancouver. The video cameras record the public audience’s reactions to Derr’s predetermined stroll through the streets. Following the walk, the videos will
be edited and presented in a four-channel video installation at VIVO.

Robert Ladislas Derr has performed and exhibited worldwide. Derr received an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and is an assistant professor of photography at The Ohio State University.
